The environment is a dynamic system in which living organisms continuously interact and influence one another throughout their lives. Today, environmental issues are increasingly discussed at both national and international levels, leading to a notable rise in the number and diversity of environment-related news in the media. Every day, numerous positive and negative reports appear in national and global media, which are examined and debated by environmentally conscious individuals. In this study, environmental-themed news articles published in the national press between 2018 and 2022 were analyzed using the word cloud analysis method based on text mining. News related to environmental problems reflected in the national media were retrieved through Google and Yandex search engines and then examined through word cloud visualization. According to the analysis results, the most frequently repeated words in negative news were “water, air, plastic, pollution, forest, mask, and glove,” while in positive news the prominent words were “waste, environment, recycling, electricity, climate, agriculture, and deposit.”
