The common or dry bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is one of the most important legumes for human consumption worldwide and is an important source of minerals, vegetable protein, bioactive compounds, and antioxidants. This plant is known to be a legume, used worldwide as one of the most important sources of plant protein. The crop commonly cultivates in Karaman as in many other cities of Anatolian region of Türkiye. In this study, the presence and relative incidence of some virus diseases were investigated in the cultivation areas of Karaman province, which has an important place in terms of bean cultivation in Turkey. The virus agents investigated are Bean yellow mosaic virus (BYMV), Bean common mosaic virus (BCMV), and Bean common mosaic necrosis virus (BCMNV), which belong to the Potyvirus genus of the family Potyviridae. It is known that these viruses, when causing single or mixed infections, can cause yield losses of up to 50%, depending on the presence or absence of other factors affecting the host plant's growth conditions, the timing of infection, and the plant's health. As a result of the surveys performed in Karaman bean production areas, 140 leaf samples were collected from bean plants exhibiting viral disease symptoms such as mosaic patterns, chlorotic mottling, deformations on leaves, wilting and stunting. The presence of the mentioned viruses in the collected samples was investigated by the DAS-ELISA method. As a result of the study, it was determined that 20 of the samples showed positive reaction against to the viruses. In other words, 14,29% of the tested plant samples were detected to be infected by at least one of the viruses. It was determined that 11 of these 20 samples were infected with BCMV, 4 with BCMNV, 1 with BYMV, 3 with BCMV+BCMNV and 1 with BCMV+BYMV+BCMNV.
