Corylus avellana L., Antioxidant, Bibliometric analysis, Treemap, Web of ScienceAbstract
This bibliometric analysis examined scientific publications on hazelnut antioxidants between 1992 and 2024. Five hundred thirty-nine scientific studies were obtained from the Web of Science database and annual scientific production. The corresponding author’s countries, country collaboration map, keyword plus – occurrence graph, most cited countries, most relevant words, word cloud analysis, and treemap analysis were applied. This study, scientific publications in the area of antioxidants in hazelnuts showed a limited and slow increase of 5-10 publications per year between 1992 and 2012, but gained momentum with an average of 25 publications per year between 2013 and 2017. Research intensified particularly between 2018 and 2023, reaching a peak of 60 publications per year in 2023. Türkiye and Italy are the two most important countries at the forefront with the number of publications, and Türkiye is also at the forefront, especially in international cooperation. The concepts of Corylus avellana L.”, “antioxidant”, “antioxidant activity”, “oxidative stress”, “vitamin E”, “hazelnuts” and “stability” came to the fore in the thematic map analysis. In the word cloud analysis, antioxidant”, “antioxidant activity”, “chemical composition” words are high frequency expressions. According to the treemap graph, Corylus avellana L. covers 8% of the total area, and the antioxidant covers 7%. This bibliometric analysis, which is examined with the keyword hazelnut antioxidant, will reveal the development of publications on this subject from the past to the present and will guide future studies.
