Abstract

This study aims to examine previous studies on animal nutrition and nutritional diseases. This study is the first bibliometric analysis that compiles studies on animal nutrition. The Scopus search engine was used for this. Data was downloaded from the relevant search engine in 2023. These data were analyzed with VOSviewer and biblioshiny package programs. 1138 articles were examined between 1975-2024 using Scopus with the keywords nutrition, aromatic oils, ruminant. There are 5216 authors in the examined articles. 31 of these authors wrote articles alone. The average number of citations per document per year to articles is 25.52. In addition, the average age of the articles is 5.3 years. The most productive country on this subject is China with 866 articles. The journal with the most publications is Animals with 63 articles, the university with the most publications is Sichvan Agricultural University with 95 publications, and the authors with the most publications are Paengkoum P, Paengkoum S, Purba Rap and Wang Y with 16 articles. The most frequently used keywords are ‘essential oil, growth performance and essential oils’. This study is considered valuable not only for researchers interested in aromatic oils in ruminant nutrition but also for anyone who wants to get an idea about potential future developments.
